Services - Primary Schools
Branar sa Bhunscoil

At the heart of our drama programme for primary schools is a piece of theatre designed to intellectually and aesthetically motivate the targeted age group.

Production
We stage one to two productions annually, each designed with a particular class in mind; ranging from productions for infant classes, first class up to third class, and finally, from fourth to sixth class. Central to each production are educational and dramaturgic objectives which work in tandem to benefit the students.

Workshops
Workshops are utilised to aid the children with comprehension both of the play and its associated themes. Each class participates in a pre- and post-show drama workshop based on the play, which will focus on particular aspects of the production. The pre-show workshop helps to engender the class's interest in the production and to create a link and connection with the material. During the post-show workshop the students have a chance to give their feedback and to review the production and the lessons learnt along the way.

Resource Pack
The teachers' resource pack includes lessons, work-plans and recommendations as well as additional games and teaching aids built around the production. This package ensures cross curricular links and integrations between subjects with the play at its source.

Creative Workshops
Developed with guidance from the class teacher the creative workshops ignite the students' imagination through use of drama skills. The workshops are designed to suit the particular age group and ability level. These skills can be used to motivate the students towards devising their own play.

Services - Secondary Schools
Branar sa Mheánscoil

Our secondary schools programme focuses on using drama methods to enhance the students' understanding of the Irish element of the curriculum. The personal and social development of the student is also a central element of the programme.

Workshops
Each workshop takes at least a double-class (90 mins), and longer sessions are also available if required. The facilitator spends a day in the school. Fun is a central element of the workshops to give students a positive new perspective of the Irish language through the medium of drama.
